Hekla worked for over ten years at the global medical innovation company Ossur (NASDAQOMX). She was involved in the entire development process, from R&D, through early design up until launching a product. She was a product manager for the company in Shanghai where she gained valuable insights into the Asian and Pacific markets, especially Japan, China, South Korea and Australia. Hekla joined NSA ventures in 2010. She serves on the boards of Cooori, Mint Solutions, Remake Electric, TCT and is the chairman of the board at Intelscan.

She holds a C.Sc degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Iceland.
